जज ने खुद को केस से किया अलग
राहुल गांधी की वकील ने जज गीता गोपी द्वारा खुद को अलग करने की जानकारी दी गई थी। उनकी वकील चंपानेरी ने कहा था कि अदालत की तरफ से मामले को बुधवार को सुनने की अनमति दी गई थी। फिर सुनवाई के लिए मामला आया तो उन्होंने खुद को इससे अलग कर लिया।

23 मार्च को पूर्व कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष को भारतीय दंड संहिता (IPC) की धारा 499 और 500 (आपराधिक मानहानि) के तहत सूरत में मेट्रोपोलिटन मजिस्ट्रेट की अदालत ने बीजेपी विधायक पूर्णेश मोदी द्वारा दायर 2019 के एक मामले में दोषी ठहराते हुए दो साल की जेल की सजा सुनाई थी। अदालत के फैसले के बाद संसद से राहुल गांधी सदस्यता को खत्म कर दिया गया था।
