Biporjoy : चक्रवाती तूफान बिपरजॉय एक दिन पहले गुजरात के तट से टकराने के बाद शुक्रवार को आगे बढ़ गया। नुकसान का आकलन अभी मुश्किल है, लेकिन हर तरफ टूटे घर, उखड़े बिजली के खंभे हालात बयां कर रहे हैं। करीब छह सौ पेड़ सड़कों पर गिर गए, जिन्हें हटाया जा रहा है। इसी बीच शनिवार को हालातों को देखते हुए केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने प्रभावित क्षेत्रों का दौरा किया। गृह मंत्री ने हेलीकॉप्टर से बाढ़ प्रभावित इलाकों का हाल जाना। अस्पताल में भर्ती लोगों से मुलाकात की और उनके हालचाल लिए।

भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग (आईएमडी) के अनुसार, बिपरजॉय ने राज्य में कच्छ और सौराष्ट्र क्षेत्र के आठ जिलों को सबसे ज्यादा नुकसान पहुंचाया है। हालांकि, पूर्व चेतावनी और पुख्ता तैयारियों ने किसी तरह की जनहानि नहीं होने दी। समय रहते एक लाख से अधिक लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर पहुंचा दिया गया था। बिपरजॉय से प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में स्थिति का जायजा लेने के लिए केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह गुजरात पहुंचेंगे। वह यहां कच्छ और जखाऊ बंदरगाह का दौरा करेंगे। बाद में मुख्यमंत्री और वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक भी करेंगे।
शाह सबसे पहले प्रभावित क्षेत्रों का हवाई सर्वेक्षण करेंगे। इस दौरान वह आश्रय गृहों का दौरा करेंगे और लोगों से मिलेंगे। इसके बाद वह मांडवी जाएंगे और प्रभावित लोगों से मिलेंगे। बाद में, गृह मंत्री भुज में स्वामी नारायण मंदिर जाएंगे और प्रभावित लोगों के लिए खाद्य सामग्री और अन्य सुविधाओं की समीक्षा करेंगे।
बता दें कि 1998 में गुजरात में आए भीषण तूफान (Biporjoy) में करीब चार हजार लोगों ने जान गंवाई थी। स्थानीय मीडिया के मुताबिक, 2001 के तूफान में 100 लोग मारे गए थे। कच्छ, देवभूमि द्वारका, जामनगर, भावनगर, बनासकांठा और मोरबी जिलों में शुक्रवार को मूसलाधार बारिश हुई। देवभूमि द्वारका में तो 24 घंटों के दौरान 100 से 200 मिलीमीटर बारिश दर्ज की गई। मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक, बनासकांठा और पाटन समेत कई जिलों में रविवार सुबह तक भारी बारिश जारी रहने की संभावना है। सेना और एनडीआरएफ पूरी मुस्तैदी से तैयार हैं।
